The Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) is a summer tire designed for luxury and high-performance vehicles, incorporating Pirelli's expertise from Formula 1 racing. It is commonly used as original equipment for certain Audi, Lamborghini, and Porsche models. The tire's performance varies based on the type of vehicle it is mounted on, with different tread patterns catering to performance or luxury models. For performance vehicles, the outer shoulder tread design enhances traction, grip, and lateral stability, enhancing the overall performance capabilities. On luxury models, the outer shoulder design reduces road vibration, noise levels inside the cabin, and improves hydroplaning resistance. The P Zero (PZ4) offers exceptional traction in summer weather conditions, utilizing a tire compound of silica and carbon black, combined with an asymmetric tread pattern. This combination ensures good grip on both dry and wet roads. However, the tire is not suitable for winter weather conditions, as the compound loses its traction in lower temperatures. To enhance safety, the tire features circumferential and wide lateral grooves that effectively channel water away from the tire's contact area, reducing the risk of hydroplaning. Internally, the P Zero (PZ4) is constructed with twin steel belts reinforced by a hybrid nylon and Kevlar Zero Degree cap ply. This structure maintains the tire's optimal shape under pressure, allowing it to perform effortlessly at high speeds. The tire's shape, alongside constant road contact, enhances steering responsiveness and driving stability.
