Hoosier A7
Hoosier Racing Tire Sports Car DOT A7 Radials are specialized tires designed for autocross, time trial, and hillclimb events in dry conditions. These tires provide excellent responsiveness and have high levels of grip at lower temperatures. They can also be used for road racing on lightweight cars or in cool ambient temperatures where other Hoosier Sports Car DOT R6 Radials may not perform well. However, it is important to note that these tires are not meant for highway use. Using them on public roads can be extremely dangerous as it may result in loss of traction, vehicle control, or sudden loss of tire pressure, leading to accidents and potential injuries. Additionally, these tires should not be driven in near-freezing temperatures, snow, or icy conditions. It is advised to store them indoors at temperatures above 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The A7 Radials feature a new tread compound that offers extended wear and usable heat cycles. This tread compound is molded into a slick tread design with five-dash circumferentially oriented grooves. Starting with a depth of 4/32", these tires do not require shaving for competition but would benefit from a minimal scuff-in before their first runs. Internally, the A7 Radials have a symmetric construction with two lightweight steel belts, a spirally wrapped circumferential nylon cap ply, and two nylon cord casing plies. It also has a rim recess design suitable for all sizes. The symmetric tread design allows the tire to be mounted on either side of the car and can be remounted inside out to extend its lifespan. When evaluating the tire's physical size, it is crucial to consider that measurements of unmounted tires may not provide accurate comparisons. Hoosier DOT-radials often have generous unmounted dimensions, so it is recommended to mount them on appropriate-width wheels before assessing their size. Additionally, the section width, tread width, and shoulder profile of the A7 Radials may differ from their predecessor, which can impact the clearance between the tire and suspension components or body panels. For aggressive fitments with close tolerances, it is advisable to test fit a mounted and inflated tire to check for any potential contact issues before driving on them. In summary, Hoosier Racing Tire Sports Car DOT A7 Radials are high-performance tires specifically designed for competitive driving in dry conditions. They offer excellent grip and responsiveness while requiring proper care and use in order to ensure safety and longevity.
