The G-MAX RS is a summer tire designed for high-performance vehicles in warm and wet conditions. It is not recommended for use in freezing temperatures, snow, or ice. The tire features a directional tread pattern with a solid center rib for improved on-center feel, acceleration, and braking. General's SmartGrip Technology ensures responsive steering and sporty handling. StabiliTread Technology ensures even pressure distribution for better cornering traction and tire longevity. It also has wide notches and shoulder slots to resist hydroplaning and provide traction in slippery conditions. The G-MAX RS has a single-ply polyester casing with a two-ply sidewall for improved steering response. It also has two high-strength steel belts with a polyamide reinforcement for enhanced handling and high-speed capability. The tire includes General's SmartMonitor Technology, which alerts the driver to replace the tire when it reaches 2/32" remaining tread depth. For proper use of the G-MAX RS, it is important to gradually return the tire to temperatures above 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before making any adjustments, such as adjusting inflation pressures or mounting the tire on wheels. Using the tire in cold weather can result in irreversible cracking of the specialized rubber compounds, which would require replacement.
