Original Equipment (O.E.) self-supporting run-flat summer tires are suitable for sporty vehicles made in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. These tires are designed for use on new cars and light trucks, providing temporary extended mobility in case of a puncture resulting in complete pressure loss. They offer a sporty combination of ride quality, noise comfort, handling, and dry and wet traction. However, they are not recommended for near-freezing temperatures, snow, or ice. Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology (DSST) tires have special sidewall reinforcements that can support the weight of the vehicle even after air pressure losses, allowing them to be driven while flat. They can endure being driven up to 50 miles at speeds of up to 55 mph, providing temporary extended mobility during stormy weather or dangerous situations. However, internal tire damage may require replacement. DSST tires should only be used as replacements for vehicles originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and a tire pressure monitoring system. While we strive to show pictures of as many of these tires as possible, the images used may not accurately depict each tire's appearance due to subtle differences in tread designs and sidewall styling. Tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls do not qualify as run-flat tires but offer limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture causes complete air pressure loss. They should not be used as substitutes for conventional run-flat tires, as they do not have the same endurance in terms of speed and distance.
